This is a PDF versions of a PowerPoint presentation, with clarifying notes, of the Poverty Probability Index (PPI) as used by Compassion International. This presentation gives an overview of the PPI, its history, how it works, and how it is constructed. As this presentation was designed specifically for use by Compassion International, it also explains PPI’s place and purpose within Compassion, including the reason it was chosen and how it fits in with Compassion’s program quality measures. An example of how to use the PPI data is given, along with an explanation of the PPI dashboards that were created by Compassion, and how to interpret them. Limitations of the PPI tool are noted, along with learnings from initial pilot tests of the PPI tool within Compassion.
